Spain: Eutelsat will invest 8 million of euros until 2010 to develop Tooway

11/03/2009
The satellite communication company Eutelsat will invest in Spain for the development of the Internet acces via satellite.

"This program will mean a total investment of nearly 8 million of euros which will consolidate the 'hub' of Madrid, located at the Abertis Telecom teleport, one of the infrastructures needed to exploit the potential of the new KA-SAT satellite for Europe" explained Cirenei Alessandro, director general of Skylogic in Spain, Eutelsat subsidiary specialising in the development of broadband solutions and IP applications.

The company hopes that through this new KA-SAT satellite, the Tooway service will extend to over one million of households in Europe, with a capacity of ADSL2. In Spain, the scope of the program may affect up to 300.000 homes, said Cirenei.
