Sea Launch to send O3b Networks satellites in space

Today, Sea Launch Company has signed a launch services agreement with O3b Networks for launches set for late 2010. The satellites built by Thales Alenia Space are designed to provide high-speed ultra-low-latency Internet connectivity between emerging and developed markets worldwide.

O3b Networks is an Internet via satellite projet to connect "the 3 others billion" of people from emerging countries without broadband access (or even no access at all) to the Internet. O3b is backed by Google, HSBC, Liberty Global and Allen & Company.
